DAY 8

Image
28/01/24 Today, after breakfast, we got ready and went to the Andechs Monastery . It was about a 45-minute walk from the house, through the mountains, and it was truly beautiful.   Along the way, I got to see nature, and the views were stunning; you could see the lake and the entire village. And, when we reached the top, before entering the monastery, we stopped at a viewpoint where we could see the landscape and the highest mountain in Germany called "Zugspitze". It was very beautiful.   Then, we went inside to see the monastery, and it was very colorful; I liked it a lot. After spending some time inside, we went to eat. In the same place, there's a restaurant, with typical food from this region of Germany. Everything was delicious. This week, I've been trying new and very tasty dishes. After eating, we walked back.

DAY 7

27/01/24 Today I went the first time to Munich, luckily the weather was amazing! We visited a palace which is called " Schloss Nymphenburg ". Its located in the western part of munich and the place where the former kings used to spend their time during summer. Today it is a museum where you can visit three different parts: The museum itself with the exhibition of how they lived.  Then there is also a exposition of carriages, porcelain and a museum which is called "Mensch und Natur", which we will visit in a few weeks. After that we went for a little walk in the park, then we drove back. I really enjoyed the trip, because the palace was very impressive and interesting!

DAY 3-6

23/01/24 - 26/01/24 This week has been very interesting; I've really enjoyed seeing the way they learn in Germany. The way classes are taught is very different, like their duration, which is almost twice as long as classes in Spain. They also have more subjects but fewer times per week. This is because they have separate subjects that we combine, such as geography and history or physics and chemistry. I also believe they have less homework, but unlike us, they have to study more daily because they have small oral exams in most subjects, like Spanish in which, for example, they have to describe a photograph, and each day a different person is assigned to provide the description. This week, in the afternoons, I've been talking and getting to know Helen. We've also played some games like kiker and Monopoly. I've also attended a volleyball training session this week, and I really enjoyed it. I think I'm going to go back next week.

DAY 2

22/01/24  Our first day at school, we woke up at 6:20 to catch the 7:25 train that takes us from Herrsching to Gilching, the town where the school is located.  TRAIN ROUTE After two classes, Doris, the Erasmus program coordinator, introduced us to the principal. After a short conversation, we went to a classroom to ask Doris some questions about the schedules. Later, our classmates, who had been here for a few days showed us around the school and the different modules.   After the break we had our first Spanish class, it was very interesting knowing how they learn our language and the teacher also talked with us. They are learning about AndalucĂa.  The wake-up and bedtime hours are very different, and the mealtimes are also different. I really enjoyed the food I've had.   We also spent some time chatting before going to sleep.

DAY 1

21/01/24 Our first day in Germany was exciting! We flew there without any complications, catching both buses and the plane was very easy. When we arrived at the airport, they were there waiting for us, ready to take us to our new homes for the next month. My new family gave me something to eat and then showed me my room. Then, Helen and I wasted no time and went out. Where? To a frozen lake just near her house. We enjoyed it, and there were some ducks who were also enjoying the cold. And the sunset was just beautiful. After dinner, we went up to Helen´s room, started talking and to got to know each other. What a fantastic way to start this adventure!
